The CDC recommends that people should avoid vaping, or e-cigarette, products containing THC.
Research shows that, among teens and adults, vaping is the preferred substitute to traditional cigarettes for either a healthy smoking experience—instead of smoke, the user inhales vapours — or for one to move from smoking to not smoking at all. And much like any other market, there is a wide variety of quality products and brand names that stick out from the rest. However, with many options available — as things are wont to be — some can cause even more harm to the body.
Here are five vape products you need to stop using. Their gadgets are recognised by their specifications, mods, and prices.
SERISVAPE CLOSERS
Pros:
- It takes a 2700.
- Copper contacts.
- Nice silicon squonk bottle.
- Solid construction (metal).
- The actual deck is nice.
- The clamp system is nice.
- The post screws are nice.
- The juice well is nice and deep.
Cons:
- Bad door.
- It is not machined well.
- The overall build quality is bad.
- The locking button is useless. Doesn’t even work properly. If you put this thing in your pocket, it’ll slide up way too easily and fire on you. It’s actually dangerous.
- No battery strap.
- RDA is plastic.
- Poor flavour.
- Bad cloud production.
- Bad proprietary drip tip.
- Too much (visible) branding.
- Bad airflow on the RDA.

DESIRE DESIGN CUT SQUONK MOD
Pros:
- Solid construction.
- Comfortable to use.
- It takes 18650/20700/21700 batteries.
- Looks nice.
- Power mode functions well.
- Good buttons.
- Can use third-party squonk bottles.
Cons:
- Paint chips off easily.
- TC is pretty poor.
- Big 21700’s can be a PITA to get in and out, so watch your wraps.
- Can’t turn light completely off.
- No spare squonk bottle included.
SANSTO 511
Pros:
- Lightweight.
- Rugged/Durable look.
- Fits up to 26mm attys.
- Battery tray.
Cons:
- Feels cheap.
- The high-set 510 pin.
- Old screen design.
- Odd function shortcuts.
- Underutilised shortcuts.
- Battery door implementation.
- Power Mode.
- TC Mode.
JOYTECH BATPACK
Pros:
- Small and leak-free.
- AA batteries.
- Long battery life and low juice consumption.
- Nice draw—not too tight, not too loose.
- Design.
- No diminishing vape over time: from full batteries until they no longer can deliver 1.85V, the output remains the same.
- Cheap coils: for about €10, you can get a 5-pack of coils.
- The battery orientation is clearly marked.
Cons:
- A little bit of movement in the door; no rattle, but you can move it a little bit when you’re playing with it with your thumb for example.
- Very tiny gap due to the slightly raised 510.
- Not really for subtle flavours, go strong and you’ll be much happier.
- There is no spare glass tank.
- There is no USB port for charging.
- When you set it on the table, it’s really not stable due to the tapering on the sides. The total width is 18mm, but it only rests on 8mm. But, since the mod is so small you can easily lay it on its side; it won’t leak on you and since it’s so small, you’re not taking up much space.
CTHULU ZATHOG
Pros:
- Standard 810 delrin tip and 510 adapter included.
- Good build quality.
- Standard 510 pin and squonk pin included.
- Good protection for over-dripping or over-squonking.
- Huge juice well.
- Smooth and quiet airflow.
- Nice-looking, simple design with no visible branding.
Cons:
- The build deck is poorly designed and not builder-friendly.
- No hex screws.
- Lack of texture or knurling makes AFC hard to adjust.
- Lack of flavour (very poor flavour).
- Lack of colour options (only SS and black).
Know The Risk Before Buying A Product
- Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine (extracted from tobacco). Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development, which continues into the early to mid-20s.
- E-cigarettes can contain other harmful substances besides nicotine, such as flavourings and other chemicals that create the aerosol that is inhaled. However, though the exact chemicals in the electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) are unknown, there is almost no doubt that they expose you to fewer toxic chemicals than traditional cigarettes.
- There has been an outbreak of heart-related problems, lung injuries, and deaths associated with vaping. Nicotine raises your blood pressure and spikes your adrenaline, which increases your heart rate and the likelihood of having a heart attack. Not only that, but as of January 21, 2020, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed 60 deaths in patients with e-cigarette, or vaping, product use-associated lung injury (EVALI).
- Young people who use e-cigarettes may be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future. Though marketed as an aid to help you quit smoking, it isn’t the best cessation tool. They have not received Food and Drug Administration approval as smoking cessation devices.
- Do not use vaping products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The CDC has identified vitamin E acetate as a chemical of concern among people with EVALI. Vitamin E acetate is a thickening agent often used in THC vaping products, and it was found in all lung fluid samples of EVALI patients examined by the CDC.
Helpful Tips To Know
If you have to, for whatever reason, use an e-cigarette, keep these in mind:
- Avoid using informal sources, such as friends, family or online dealers, to obtain a vaping device.
- Do not modify or add any substances to a vaping device that are not intended by the manufacturer.
- Electronic cigarettes can be just as addictive as traditional ones.
- There’s a strong link between smoking and cardiovascular disease and between smoking and cancer. But the sooner you quit, the quicker your body can rebound and repair itself. It isn’t easy, but then again, nothing worth doing is easy.
